Product Information: The djembe is a traditional musical instrument that is in nearly all West African ceremonies. Our djembe drums come from Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal. Artisans hand-carve large djembe drums from a single piece of hollowed wood. The goatskin top is stretched and held in place by long pieces of braided nylon and cotton cords. Some drums have designs etched into the base, as well as a fabric trim along the top. The miniature drums serve as exceptional home decorations and are great for kids.
